Worship with us this Sunday at 10:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary
The Third Sunday in Lent
March 7, 2010
The
warnings are plentiful and blunt on the third Sunday in Lent. Lent is a
season of repentance. Cut it out or get cut down! The warnings are
accompanied by God's invitation to attentiveness: "Incline your
ear, and come to me; listen, so that you may live." The landowner's
ultimatum is forestalled by the gardener's readiness to till the ground
one more year. That is good news for all of us. Thanks be to God!

Ascension to host “One Voice” on March 7th
to benefit Open Door Haiti

On Sunday, March 7th, we welcome the One Voice choir from Joy Christian
High School in Glendale, AZ, who will be augmenting our worship to benefit
Open Door Haiti, an organization which is assisting that devastated
country. In lieu of their planned tour to California, they have
opted to tour locally and give all their donations to this relief effort
instead
.

Haiti Relief Fund Donations
The
ELCA Disaster Response is already working through long-standing
partnerships on the ground to provide emergency food, water, shelter,
and medical supplies to our brothers and sisters in Haiti who have
been impacted by the devastating earthquake on January 12th.
Financial gifts are urgently needed. Your gifts to the ELCA
International Disaster Response, designated for Haiti Earthquake Relief,
will be used entirely- 100 percent- for immediate relief and ongoing
recovery in Haiti. Your prayers and generous gifts will make a
life-saving difference.
