Vespers Friday, February 19th 7:00 p.m.
Jazz
Vespers performs at Ascension on February 19th at 7:00 p.m..
Valley jazz lovers will appreciate the musical talents of recording
artist and pianist Bob Ravenscroft, the well-known sounds of Dwight
Kilian’s upright bass, and the innovative percussion of Rob Moore on
drums. These artists create a musical backdrop for the spoken word of
Rev. Richard Parrish who weaves Scripture and meditative observations
into the music, creating an environment that nourishes the soul with
prayerful reflection. Mario Barnabe’s visual images complete the
artistic experience by complementing the musical themes and bringing
focus and clarity to selected Scriptures. Free of charge and open
to the public, Ascension welcomes these renowned musicians and artists
as part of Music Serving the Word, a national ministry fusing the arts
and faith. Bring a guest and enjoy an evening of jazz by these
gifted musicians. |

We at Ascension share God’s story of love and joy for all
people through the ministries of worship, spiritual formation, music, art, and
family strength. These are gifts we have to share with the neighborhood,
community, and world.
If you are searching for new directions in life
our hearts, our minds, and our doors are always open. Regardless of your social,
economical, political, cultural, or personal need, we want to be the catalysts
that create the opportunity for change to occur.
Refusing to be ignorant of the issues affecting our community, locally and
globally, we willingly walk into the abyss of challenge, hurt, and pain, pouring
out the resources of our time, energy, and finances into specific conquerable
needs. By being the resource required for an individual need, we will embody
the living message of Christ to transform our lives
and our community.
