It is a firm belief at Ascension that God loves all people, and sends us
out into the world as disciples of Christ, to share His love with the
neighborhood, the community and the world.
However, God knew that in order for us to do that, we needed to be created mobile. So He designed
us, not unlike an automobile. Our arms and legs are like the wheels of
our cars, they provide us with mobility. Our bodies are like the chassis
of our cars, some designs are wider, some taller and/or heavier than
others.
Our eyes are the headlights that allow us to see the road ahead. Our brain’s thoughts are the steering wheels that guide us to where we
decide to go. Yes, God gave us the equipment….where we go with
it is our responsibility. But wait, there’s
more.
Our lungs are like the batteries of our cars. When they stop working,
we’re pretty much done.
And lastly, give this a thought… Your car will go nowhere without
fuel. Our fuel, as humans, is “enthusiasm”: And, of course,
all fuel needs a container to hold it. The container for our emotions is
our heart. To have enthusiasm is more impacting than having money, power, or
influence. God gave this special fuel to each of us.
Now, here’s the good news… When your heart is fueled with
enthusiasm, and you use it to share God’s love with others, you will
never run out of fuel.
