Join us for Jazz Vespers on Fridays at 7:00 PM with a wine and cheese reception in the garden at 6:00 PM.  They are at Ascension on the third Friday of every month from September thru May.  Valley jazz lovers will appreciate the musical talents of recording artist and pianist Bob Ravenscroft, the well-known sounds of Dwight Kilian’s upright bass, and the innovative percussion of Rob Moore on drums.  These artists create a musical backdrop for the spoken word of Rev. Richard Parrish who weaves Scripture and meditative observations into the music, creating an environment that nourishes the soul with prayerful reflection.  Mario Barnabe’s visual images complete the artistic experience by complementing the musical themes and bringing focus and clarity to selected Scriptures.  Free of charge and open to the public, Ascension welcomes these renowned musicians and artists as part of Music Serving the Word, a national ministry fusing the arts and faith.
