Then, at 1:30 that afternoon, the Phoenix Boys
Choir joined the Ragazzi Boys Chorus to perform a concert in the
Sanctuary to a full house
The
70 choristers that constitute the Concert Group and Young Men’s
Ensemble of Ragazzi sang a variety of songs, including Yiddish folk
songs and music from "I Never Saw Another Butterfly" by
Charles Davidson, based on poems written by children in the Nazi camp of
Terezin, Poland in the 1940's. The program included folksongs from
Ireland and the United States and two dance numbers "You Can't Stop
the Beat" and "Crazy Little Thing called Love." The
Phoenix Boys Choir, comprised of the Town Choir as well as the Tour and
Master's Choirs, sang selections from their 60 Year Anniversary Concert
including music by Franz Joseph Haydn and Georg Friedrich Handel under
the direction of Artistic Director, Georg Stangelberger. |
